Project Unveil! #awholenewview Part 2

Wow! I just realized I haven’t written for almost SIX WEEKS! I will chalk it up to having enjoyed this perfect (albeit WEIRD as hell) summer making the most of my time with family and friends in this amazing place. But, I have lots of news to share with you (Covid-19 homeschooling, fall activities, etc.) — as well as some amazing design projects to unveil soon.

But, first, I want you to see this! Many of you probably remember the #awholenewview project that we unveiled back in March. You may also recall that, when we unveiled the interior, we were still working on several components of the landscape design, which included an enormous addition to, and complete reconfiguration/redesign of, the existing raised-bed garden. Sketches follow below.

Our client had cancer treatment and subsequent surgery this spring, so we all (including contractors, landscapers, garden caretakers and friends) knew how important these spaces were going to be in providing a soothing, stimulating and BEAUTIFUL place to recover over the summer.

Skip to late August. Summer is waning in Wyoming (while it’s a gorgeous day today, our high temperature yesterday was 54 degrees, and there was snow in the high country!) Bliss and I snuck over to check the progress of the gardens the other day — and, of course, to take some pix. To say it’s been a good growing season would be an understatement. Check out the riot of color in the raised beds — veggies and herbs are coming out our client’s ears! (The perennial beds around the patio are also coming along well — they’ll take a few years to make their full impact.)

The raised-bed garden makes me feel like I’ve somehow been dropped in the middle of the Jack and the Beanstalk story. It’s literally mind-blowing. And I can’t help but think it’s played a big part in our client’s return to health.

More to come soon! Until then, stay well and spread love and positivity.
