Wyoming summers are pure BLISS...

I’m the first to admit that it’s been a strange summer — hell, it’s been a strange year! — but sometimes I have to pinch myself when I think of how lucky I am to call this wild and wonderful place my home. As a fifth-generation Wyoming native, I know this state isn’t perfect, but I also know that I wouldn’t choose to live anywhere else. Did you get to drive up the scenic South Fork of the Shoshone River last night and stop to feed hay to Frontier Rodeo’s multi-year NFR bucking bull, Lookin’ Up? I didn’t think so!

We’ve made so many memories with friends and family already, and the summer is only half over! Trips to Yellowstone (on Sunday, we saw a grizzly bear with a tiny cub), playing tourist in Jackson, a girls’ weekend in Sheridan, paddle boarding, late-evening walks by the river (where we saw a cavorting family of river otters a few weeks ago) … Brad’s on his summer golf tourney tour, so he’s missing out on lots of fun.

We’ve also spent some time in the Sunlight Basin, camping in Freea the Brave (our cute little camper — she’s also featured on our website under projects #glampingismyjam). And, at home, we’ve been LOVING our recently spruced-up summer cabin in the backyard (it’s on the website too—#summercabinspruceup).

This coming weekend, my family and I will proudly see my grandpa, Mel Stonehouse, be inducted into the Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame. And the following weekend, we will host a bridal shower the evening before my beautiful cousin, Tess, marries her love.

How lucky is all that? It’s a sometimes-chaotic whirlwind of family, friends, and a lot of fun and laughter. That’s what it’s all about. Oh, and there is some work sprinkled in for good measure…

Lest you think it’s all about summer bummin’, we also have some super fun design projects in the works — a few remodels (ranging from cosmetic to complete gut jobs), a new construction and a commercial project that I’m DYING to tell you about sometime soon. And, in two weeks, we say goodbye to our Moroccan blue kitchen forever — I’ll post a blog soon about that, as well as a recap when it’s all finished.

Until then, be well, take care of each other, and WEAR YOUR FRICKIN’ MASKS!

Love,
